MorningStar Founder Among Nation’s Leading Entrepreneurs
Ken Jaeger, MorningStar’s Founder/CEO and 2016 regional Entrepreneur of the Year winner, seen here at the EY Strategic Growth Forum in Palm Springs in November. Below left: with COO Kimberly Erickson, wife Shanna and Managing Partner Matt Turner. Ken is also seen posing with Jack Nicklaus, golf legend and one of conference’s keynotes.
At this phenomenal conference, EY celebrated the 30th anniversary of EOY, and the global leaders it so grandly honors. Over the last 30 years, Ernst & Young has awarded 9000 EOY winners across the U.S. Without exaggeration, entrepreneurs are the secret sauce that has fueled America for last 240 years. They are the engine of job creation and growth, generating $1 trillion in revenues and 14 million jobs each year.
In August, the Home Office of MorningStar welcomed to its Denver shores our entire complement of Executive Directors for a midyear meeting, and to join us at the phenomenal Global Leadership Summit. Here’s the First Place team and Last Place team (both equally proud) in the MorningStar Olympic Volleyball Tournament held at our Founder’s home.
A Glorious Night to Remember
We are amazed (but not completely). We are humbled (but, oh, so proud). We are thrilled (make that…ecstatic)!
Ken Jaeger, MorningStar’s Founder and CEO, has been named Entrepreneur Of The Year, as announced at a black tie gala on June 23 hosted by Ernst & Young. Inside the glittering Seawell Ballroom in downtown Denver, 1000 business and civic leaders from Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona gathered to witness Ken taking top honors in the Healthcare and Life Sciences category.
An independent panel of judges, themselves prestigious entrepreneurs, chose Ken and seven others as winners within the Mountain-Desert Region in recognition of their excellence and extraordinary success, as exhibited through innovation, financial performance and philanthropy.
Ken now goes on to compete at the national level of Entrepreneur Of The Year in November in Palm Springs. Sponsored for the last 30 years by Ernst & Young, the EOY program recognizes business leaders in over 145 cities in more than 60 countries throughout the world.
But here’s the kicker. Here was the moment where it all made even more poetic sense. Ken was the last award recipient of the event. His acceptance speech was the last the audience heard that evening. And Ken’s words were powerfully, empathetically, all about humility and gratitude to God and the fruits that come from honoring Him first.

MorningStar in the National News
We were honored to be the subject of a feature article in the April/May 2015 issue of Seniors Housing Business. Read the full text Here.
“It’s a Great Day to be a Dragon”…
…that refrain resounded through the sylvan campus of Minnesota State University Moorhead during its 2014 Homecoming. MSUM “dragons” rose up in energized, red-shirted masses throughout the festive weekend, including an elite group of distinguished alumni invited back to celebrate their roots. Among these seven Dragons from the Past was our own Ken Jaeger. Not surprisingly, his prodigious achievement in business, his shepherding of MorningStar, and his commitment to third world orphanages earned him the recognition of his alma mater. He’s pictured here, fielding questions from a curious student body. The following day he witnessed the presidential inauguration of MSUM’s revered Dr. Anne Blackhurst. Ken then spoke to a crowd of 500 at the Distinguished Alumni banquet, encouraging them to use the gifts God has given each, and live out the plan He has for each.
