Frequently Asked Questions

How is the pricing structured within your communities? The Cottages at Dayton Place, our community of private homes, has its own unique pricing. See those specifics under The Cottages tab. The remaining homes we offer are apartment suites (studio, one- bedroom, two-bedroom); their monthly rental is contingent on level of care provided and square footage.

What levels of care does MorningStar Senior Living offer? Independent living in both apartment suites and private homes, assisted living and memory care in both secure wings as well as separate buildings.

Am I contractually bound to stay at MorningStar? No. You may move out at any time with a 30-day notice.

Do you allow pets? Absolutely. We do ask that your pet weigh under 20 lbs and there are some restrictions on breeds. We also have a nonrefundable pet deposit.

How do I know the time is right for assisted living? Understandably, this decision has many individualized facets. However, in general,  the answer is when personal safety is compromised (the senior is not remembering to take medications or to eat well, is falling or unstable physically or mentally.

Is there an age requirement for becoming a resident of MorningStar? In our assisted living and memory care suites, you must be at least 62 years old. In The Cottages at Dayton Place you must be at least 55 years old and able to live independently.

How do I introduce the idea of assisted living to my loved one? The best approach is always straightforward, emphasizing especially the personal safety and peace of mind of your loved one.  Remind your parents that, as they once took such good care of you, you now want to show the same level of concern and attention. Touring one of our communities is the ideal way to replace anxieties with assurances.

My parent is suffering memory loss. How does MorningStar handle such situations? MorningStar offers a secure and gentle home for those with memory impairments. Our carefully chosen and trained staff work closely with residents and their families to find creative ways to awaken the senses and reduce stress. By infusing our home with visual,, auditory and olfactory cues, we can often tap into dormant memories.

Do you have respite care? Yes. For as long as 30 days, a senior is welcomed into one of our homes to convalesce after surgery, or stay while their regular caretakers are on vacation or otherwise indisposed.
