For over 20 years our founder and CEO, Ken Jaeger, has exhibited a heart and talent for serving seniors. Ken’s experience covers the full spectrum of senior living operations and management, including successful start-ups, acquisitions, turnarounds of distressed properties and multi-site leadership. Ken has a proven track record of assembling and mentoring teams to profitability, while always providing the highest quality care.
Currently Ken serves as President and CEO of MorningStar Senior Living, a company he founded in 2003 which currently operates a portfolio of approximately 500 units in five locations with a combined value exceeding $100 million.
From 1998 through 2002, Ken was Vice President of Operations for the western division of Sunrise Senior Living. In past years Ken has held third-party management contracts with various senior living companies where he concurrently managed up to 50 properties with annual revenues exceeding $100 million. From 1987 through 1997, Ken was an Executive Director of skilled nursing homes, assisted living and independent living communities throughout Colorado.
Ken is actively involved in community and mission organizations. He served for eight years as a volunteer counselor in a downtown Denver homeless shelter, and he frequently volunteers his time building homes for the poor in Mexico, Nicaragua and various African countries.
Ken attended Moorhead State University in Minnesota where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Care.

Chief Financial and Development Officer

Mr. Turner is responsible for managing all corporate growth initiatives for MorningStar as well as all financial reporting and accounting for existing communities. His past experience includes real estate investment and development transactions totaling over $3 billion in value.
Prior to joining MorningStar, Matt held a senior investment and finance position at a real estate development company focused on senior living. In this role he was responsible for overseeing feasibility analysis for all new opportunities, transaction structuring and financing, corporate strategy, asset management and investor relations. Prior to that he spent several years in investment and corporate finance positions with Black Creek Capital, a Denver-based private equity firm. Matt began his career with tax strategy and compliance for corporate clients at Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen.
Matt is a certified public accountant (inactive) and completed undergraduate and graduate studies in accounting and business.
In addition to his involvement in several nonprofits, Matt is a member of the Urban Land Institute, a graduate of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation's Leadership Denver program and a past member of its finance committee.
