Glimpses of the Heart
My most cherished childhood memories center around both sets of
grandparents. My dad passed away at a young age, moving me into a care-taking role in their lives, helping around the house, and hearing their stories of simpler times. I’ve always had a vintage soul, so their histories easily resonate with me. I became a Red Cross volunteer at twelve. Volunteering at a local nursing home that summer, I’d ride my bike there early in the day and stay until after dinner (and only after Mom called, urging my return). I loved the people and spending time with them.

always take me to play, shop, and ride bikes—and he was awesome on the grill! I feel called to serve seniors because they have so much knowledge and experience to bring to younger generations. From them, I’ve learned life is not promised. So live it to the fullest, and never take anything for granted. Trust God and treat people the way you want to be treated. I’m honored to work for MorningStar, whose Founder shares my values and beliefs. We were both taught not to be afraid of hard work.

Seniors pioneered the way for all that we have today. And though technology
has taught us much, it is seniors who teach the best lessons on respect, love, understanding and compassion. My Grandma was the first senior I ever loved. I would spend the summers at her house, playing in the pool and going to Dodgers games with her. Even on a tight budget, she always found something fun for us to do.

Testify to Love
“Our Dad has recently moved to MorningStar at Jordan. We are so happy with his new place. The staff is caring, everyone watches out for him and his care is wonderful. Yesterday he told me, ‘They really like me here.’ I got emotional, as this was not the case in his last home.”Read more
“A “hero” isn’t just someone who rescues you from a burning building. It’s someone who hands you an object three inches beyond your reach (for with my Parkinson’s, three inches might as well be a mile). For that reason alone, MorningStar staff are my heroes.”
“MorningStar is the best senior living community you’ll find. They listen to what residents say and want. This place really sings! I’m blessed to be here.”
