Glimpses of the Heart
A heart for healthcare was shaped in me by my mother, Annette, who had MS.
My earliest memories are those of caring for Mom with the help of my grandparents. I was Mom’s motivation to rise up and fight against the disease. Our family’s journey was the greatest gift of demonstrated love that could have been given me. And now I’ve found a company whose first priority is to honor God, values that mirror my own.
I remember going to work with my mother who was a CNA. She absolutely
loved her service to seniors, sparking that same flame in me. Now that my grandmother has dementia and as I help the family navigate her care, I feel more than ever that my life’s purpose is to care for and love seniors. This is where I need to be.
Director, Community Relations
Seniors pioneered the way for all that we have today. And though technology
has taught us much, it is seniors who teach the best lessons on respect, love, understanding and compassion. My Grandma was the first senior I ever loved. I would spend the summers at her house, playing in the pool and going to Dodgers games with her. Even on a tight budget, she always found something fun for us to do.

“Our Dad has recently moved to MorningStar at Jordan. We are so happy with his new place. The staff is caring, everyone watches out for him and his care is wonderful. Yesterday he told me, ‘They really like me here.’ I got emotional, as this was not the case in his last home.”Read more
“A “hero” isn’t just someone who rescues you from a burning building. It’s someone who hands you an object three inches beyond your reach (for with my Parkinson’s, three inches might as well be a mile). For that reason alone, MorningStar staff are my heroes.”
“MorningStar is the best senior living community you’ll find. They listen to what residents say and want. This place really sings! I’m blessed to be here.”
