My Grandmother (who the grandkids called “Mama”) has always been close to my heart. She taught how to care deeply and appreciate life and all that we have in this life. She is the reason I have served in senior living for 15 years. Seniors teach me patience, empathy, wisdom and respect through their stories. In return, I love to create special moments for them. Faith has always been a big part of my life. I wanted to join MorningStar after hearing how the company was named, and the values and vision that derived from that name.
I feel honored to serve seniors at MorningStar, a company that has shown they uphold their mission to value all seniors and honor God. Throughout my childhood I spent much of my time with Grandma Lola, an amazing woman. She taught me many life skills, including how to be caring and respectful of your elders. Wisdom, compassion and love are a few of the life lessons I have learned through seniors. They teach me how valuable and short life is as well as the importance of laughing more and worrying less.
The first senior I ever loved was Grandma JoAnn. Nana has always been close to my heart, teaching me many skills and how to appreciate what I have in life. She is the reason I have served in senior living for the last seven years. Each senior I have encountered taught me patience, respect and wisdom through all they have endured. I love being able to support, love and create fun moments for them. I was attracted to MorningStar for the values that its name upholds.
I made my transition in to senior living after many years in the fitness industry. God called for me to make a change in my life so I would feel empowered again. He filled an empty space in my life through service to seniors. I was attracted to MorningStar due in part to its values and embodiment of a service mindset. It's hard not to enjoy showing up for work every day when you are surrounded by seniors and team members who shower you with love and support.
