Glimpses of the Heart
My maternal grandmother, Christine, was the first senior I ever loved.
I so enjoyed her annual visits from Alabama to our Texas home. She set me on the career path I’ve enjoyed for over 20 years. Today I’m as committed as ever to serving our amazing seniors. Even on their hardest days, they offer endearing hugs and heartfelt gratitude.
I’m a caregiver by nature, having taken care of my mom, who had diabetes,
from my earliest childhood memories. The first senior I ever loved by Papa Charles, my maternal grandfather, who born in 1902; he always told me: “If you are not good to your word, what good are you?” Seniors teach us a lot of traditions that we, as a society, no longer hold dear, and they have so many lessons to share.
Dir, Community Relations
I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to care for my precious Mom and
ensure her wishes were respected. Her journey included hospitalizations, rehab, selling the family home of 50 years, transition to assisted living and hospice. Throughout, I discovered the importance of senior advocacy—for ALL seniors to have a voice…be heard…understood…extended the right to live with respect and dignity. I am so grateful for the precious and intimate moments with my Mom. The Lord provided an amazing foundation for me to help families and create a soft place to fall when they need caring and compassionate support.

“Our Dad has recently moved to MorningStar at Jordan. We are so happy with his new place. The staff is caring, everyone watches out for him and his care is wonderful. Yesterday he told me, ‘They really like me here.’ I got emotional, as this was not the case in his last home.”
“Beautiful facility and the staff is both competent and caring!”
“My experience with MorningStar at Jordan was very good, especially the helpful, caring nurses.”Read more
“A “hero” isn’t just someone who rescues you from a burning building. It’s someone who hands you an object three inches beyond your reach (for with my Parkinson’s, three inches might as well be a mile). For that reason alone, MorningStar staff are my heroes.”
“MorningStar is the best senior living community you’ll find. They listen to what residents say and want. This place really sings! I’m blessed to be here.”
