Glimpses of the Heart
I was first attracted to MorningStar because of its willingness to include
God in its mission statement. In a world that works tirelessly to remove God, MorningStar is a company not afraid to be different. Caring for seniors is a noble calling, and I am proud to be a part of a company that centers itself around a commitment to strong moral values and ethics.
I grew up with several generations of family nearby. My Grandmother,
particularly, was a remarkable woman and fantastic cook. I love to learn seniors’ perspectives on what we call historical events—for to them, it was real and personal. Whether it’s the Kennedy assassination or opening of the Golden Gate Bridge, I can spend hours talking with residents as they share what it was like to experience those pivotal events firsthand. Talks like those always energize me. All that wisdom is inside them, just waiting to be tapped.
Dir, Community Relations
My “Mema” was the love of my life and the reason I pursued a field in senior
living. Her wisdom and life experiences helped guide me into the person I am today. I can still smell her fritters and hear that southern accent. I think about her often, and use her as the foundation of my love and deep sense of respect for this generation.
