Glimpses of the Heart
- ExitTerry LaMantiaSenior Executive DirectorIn the summers when I was young, I would often stay with Grandma Mabel, helping her bake and tend her yard. I’ll never forget the smell of cutting into a fresh loaf and watching the butter melt as I listened to her marvelous stories. I find joy in creating an environment for our team members to learn from our seniors. Seniors see things in ways that can help us be successful and how to approach problems with a new perspective. They teach us to look for joy in the small things.
- ExitAllison EckertAssoc. Executive DirectorGrandpa Clifford ("Papa") lived with us when I was growing up. As his sidekick, we did everything together. Our time together helped to shape my passion for serving seniors. In his honor I made this my professional mission. Seniors teach me compassion, patience, acceptance and joy in the little things. I feel blessed to have so many extended grandparents from whom I learn wisdom every day.
- ExitJeremy BarrettWellness DirectorI have been fortunate to serve seniors my entire nursing career. I love providing a quality of care that enhances and enriches their lives. Truly, an amazing experience! I couldn’t imagine myself working anywhere else as a nurse. Seniors have taught me to enjoy life as much as you can, never sweat the small stuff, laugh a lot, complain less and never take anything for granted, especially time. I continue to be impressed by our team members who go above and beyond to give love, respect, honesty, fairness, goodness and kindness to enrich the lives of our residents.
- ExitAmber TruckeDirector Community RelationsWhen I was little, my mom and I would always help our elderly neighbor, Dorothy. My mom explained to me how every part of our lives, cars, roads, buildings, technology, and our freedom, were built and created by those who came before us and helping them now, when things are a little harder for them, is a great way to show our thanks. I don’t see my role as a job at all, but as a passion. How thankful I am to work for a company that supports that passion and allows me to do the right thing for those we serve as we branch out and help others in need through the MorningStar Foundation.
