LIVE TWICE THE STORY
Enjoy these miracle moments of connecting and caring
My grandparents were the first seniors I loved unconditionally. Their house was a place of comfort and security; their home represented all that my grandparents were to me: Faith, Family and Gratefulness. Seniors have a wealth of knowledge to share about what matters most. Working with seniors gives me the opportunity to make a real difference, for a warm and empathetic presence in their lives can change a dismal day to a bright one. When we honor and care for seniors, we are serving God as well.
In my years as a nurse in senior care, I have learned a great deal from my elders. They have been through so many different adventures and situations. Who better then to teach us “not to sweat the small stuff.” They continue to smile and appreciate others and give grace despite everything that life throws at you. On first walking into the MorningStar community I could immediately feel the warmth and peace here.
The first seniors I loved unconditionally were my grandparents, Bob and Jo Templeton. He was a highly decorated WWII veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. His recount of that story always had me on the edge of my seat. I would visit them every summer in Wyoming, one of my favorite memories growing up. I have always loved talking to seniors about their life. They teach me understanding and love. I appreciate how their wisdom allows them to see the positive in every person or situation. What distinguishes MorningStar is that our every team members work to ensure that our residents feel loved and continue to lead purposeful lives.
