Glimpses of the Heart

ExitSuZanne KelleyExecutive DirectorSeniors have taught me about wisdom, faith and humility. Everyone's story is so different and just as impactful. From published authors to military veterans, each one brings a unique approach to the table. MorningStar exhibits principles that deepen our ability to communicate, empathize, and support those around us. This company is one of a kind and truly a leader in senior living through its Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, and Respect.

ExitMonique Cooper-BickhamWellness DirectorThe first senior that I have ever loved was my grandmother, Mere’Mere’. After losing my grandfather in 1994, she and I became even more attached. When Mere’Mere’ was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, I moved back to New Orleans to care for her. That experience was the driving force in training as a geriatric nurse for I wanted nothing more than to care for other people’s grandparents. The wisdom seniors have can only be appreciated if you take the time to sit and listen to their stories.

ExitJeannette WrightDirector Community RelationsMy grandmother’s name was Lila Bell (a name I sang out every time I saw her!). She was a gem—reserved and conservative in every way. She taught us how to be ladies and what that truly meant. She and Grandpa Van would pile us kids into the car for regular visits to the local nursing home where we sang, read Scriptures and ministered to the heart. Thanks to my grandparents, seniors have been central to my life for as long as I can remember.

ExitKyle MemoleDirector Community RelationsGrandmother Miriam was my best friend when I was a child. We would go for walks around the neighborhood, delivering cookies and bringing newspapers strewn on driveways to the door as a courtesy. Throughout my career I have witnessed so many seniors who believe they have "lost their voice" in the world. I want to advocate for them for we would not be here without their hard work. Every person has their own story and own wisdom to share. MorningStar's stated values are on display by every team member. That’s what sets us apart.

Just toured MorningStar at River Oaks. It was very beautiful, and I can not wait for my Grandma to stay here. She deserves it. Certainly worth the tour!
