Assisted Living – Peoria AZ’s Finest Community
Newly opened in September 2015 on the north side of Glendale, MorningStar offers residents a lifestyle of comfort, wellness and community within its warm and inviting common areas and contemporary décor. Although the truest expression of the MorningStar brand is centered on its warm and caring staff; more than any other factor, they make our home a true home.
Our Arrowhead community has 60 private assisted living suites on two levels, with spacious studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans (some over 600 square feet). We also have 25 secure suites devoted to the individualized care of those with memory impairment from Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases within our Reflections Neighborhood, which is on its own one-story wing.
Beyond the impressive architectural features and extensive amenities, our highest goal is to create an atmosphere of love and community for our permanent and short-term respite care residents. And for our memory care residents, every day presents us with the opportunity to lovingly support choice and independence as much as possible and, above all, to affirm individual dignity and value.
MorningStar at Arrowhead’s Interior Design Wins National Kudos
After intense review by a panel of 20 jurors (architects, designers, industry providers and consultants), MorningStar at Arrowhead received Honorable Mention in the 2016 “Environments for Aging” Design Showcase. From hundreds of entries nationwide, MorningStar was one of only four projects found worthy of Honorable Mention. CLICK HERE to read the piece on us in its national magazine.
In a separate competition…in the category of “Best Seniors Housing Community—Assisted Living,” MorningStar at Arrowhead was honored with an Award of Merit by the Pacific Coast Builders Association (a division of the National Home Builders Association) in its prestigious Gold Nugget Awards. The MorningStar community now competes in June for the Grand Prize within this category at the PCBA’s national conference.
And, in yet another competition…
At a regional awards gala in August 2016, the American Society of Interior Designers named Thoma-Holec Design (MorningStar’s longtime interior design firm):
2nd place, Best Senior Living for MorningStar at Arrowhead
2nd place, Aging in Place: MorningStar at Arrowhead’s One Bedroom Model Suite
While proud of these coveted industry citations, Thoma-Holec is especially proud when they see our residents enjoying the environments they so lovingly created.

Glimpses of the Heart
Esther Di Camillo
Seniors teach me to treasure the moments. Things we see as small in our busy lives can
end up playing a large role in our paths. Our lives can be better by listening to the advice and stories of seniors. They have a wealth of experiences, amazing stories and lessons that apply to all generations. I consider it invaluable when a resident imparts his or her wisdom.
I was attracted to MorningStar because they are truly making a difference in the lives
of seniors. The compassion and kindness I witness every day solidifies my right choice in joining this company. The first senior I ever loved was my Uncle Jake who taught me the true meaning of unconditional love. The dear seniors I have known teach me about civility, frugality, respect, kindness and the importance of family.
Dir, Community Relations
Grandpa Berrnie and Grandma Helen had a huge role in my upbringing. After taking care of
Grandma who developed dementia and Parkinson’s, and seeing our family struggle to adapt, I resolved to help make the journey easier for other families. Seniors teach me to enjoy life today, rather than wish for some distant future. They model kindness, and how we must not rush nor take things for granted.
Life Around Our House
“The Memories We’re Making…Together”
Testify to Love
“There are times when we are placed in a position where we have to rely on others to assist in the care of those who are the greatest part of our heart: our parents. It is most often a situation we suddenly find ourselves in. It is perhaps one of the most difficult decisions we will ever make. Having the best intentions, we quickly search out a care community with the best location, most amenities, pleasing décor, best food, etc. But what in long run matters most is the care. It takes a very special person to go beyond their job and care for those who are not their given family. From the first day Mom was at MorningStar, there was never a question in my mind that it was the right choice. I never once questioned the level of care she was receiving, from the concierge to the dining room servers, the housekeepers to the maintenance team and, of course, the caregivers. Every person, from day one, went above and beyond my greatest hopes and expectations; you all became her family when I could not be there. Saying “thank you” seems inadequate for all that you meant to Mom, and all that you will always mean to me. It takes a very special person to devote their lives to the service of our greatest members of society, and each of you do it with apparent ease, humor, respect and, most importantly love. You will never be forgotten.”
“The care John received from your extraordinary Reflections staff could not have been kinder or more loving than if he had been living with family. Many of the staff remarked to me how they loved his smile; but it was because they were so good to him that he smiled so much. The wonderful people who worked with John never hesitated to do anything needed to keep him comfortable, entertained and smiling. I am deeply grateful.”Read more
“The MorningStar Reflections staff is very caring and compassionate. They are sensitive to and supportive of the needs of residents and families. A wonderful group.”
“Very professional group in all departments. Took care of all of my father’s needs in getting settled in his new home.”
“MorningStar was the top choice of the five communities our family visited. The staff took a personal interest in us and our unique situation, which was deeply appreciated. The decor was bright and cheerful, but the peaceful feeling stood out the most.”
“Loved seeing the building. Had a great visit. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable.”
