Glimpses of the Heart
- ExitPaul GozonExecutive DirectorWhen I consider the seniors who have had the most influence on me, I think of Dutch, from 27 years ago when I was a caregiver in Willoughby, OH. Dutch was one of the residents who embraced me as his own. He was very thankful for every little thing. Caring for him made me realize that I make a difference. Albert Schweitzer once said: The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others. My values align with those of MorningStar. When I read about its origins and Founder Ken Jaeger’s inspiration, it gave me goosebumps. Our mission says a lot about what we stand for as a company.
- ExitRosana FriasAssoc. Executive DirectorGrowing up close to my grandparents had a great impact on my desire to serve seniors. The memories that our seniors share help us to understand life, stimulate our development, and evaluate ourselves in a positive way. The first senior I ever loved was Grandmother Anastacia, who I called Abue. Hers was an unconditional love. She taught me respect, honesty, humility and to always work hard, but above all, to love and honor God. MorningStar honors God by loving and respecting the dignity of everyone.
- ExitMarian MorrisWellness DirectorMy calling to serve seniors began with my grandparents. While the years brought outward changes in them, their hearts remained the same. I felt nurtured and safe with them. When I look into the eyes of a senior, I see my grandparents and that fills me with immense love and compassion. I was attracted to MorningStar when I saw the passion of senior leaders for the company. The vision of MorningStar is one I want to join for they truly invest in helping their team achieve their highest potential. I feel more welcomed and supported than anywhere I have worked in 25 years as a nurse. The camaraderie is amazing.

Grandma Miller loved to shop and sneak new stuff into the house; she would stand at the door and wave good-bye until we turned the corner. Grandma Senesac was a fantastic cook with a stern hug while Grandpa Senesac and I would share special time with a trip to Dairy Queen, me on the back of his Schwinn bike, he is sitting on my thumbs to keep me safe. I am humbled and honored to have cared for and loved them unconditionally.

If I can give this facility 10 stars, I would. Every time I visit the facility, I see their staff so happy and welcoming. I see how the facility staff care for their patients and they go above and beyond and I see patients happy and have quality of life. This is how an assisted living facility should always be. The managers are so on top of everything which makes this facility great.
