ExitRonda LunnonExecutive DirectorMy grandmother was a woman of devout prayer. In later years, when dementia afflicted her, she had a hard time communicating. Yet when it was time to pray or sing hymns, Grandma would become incredibly clear-minded and pray as she always had. Her faith never wavered. I feel exactly as our mission states: that our residents are gifted and contributing individuals. It is a true privilege to work in their home.

ExitKelly HawkAssociate Executive DirectorGrandfather (“Bumpa”) was a kind and patient man who showed love for his family in everything he did. As he aged, I wanted to ensure he received the same love and respect he gave us all those earlier years. My first job out of college was as a caregiver in a group home specializing in dementia. Being entrusted to give essential support for someone else’s loved one had a real impact on my life. MorningStar’s philosophy and mission matches my own. It is a blessing to work with a company that has successfully incorporated love, honor and respect into their business model.

ExitUbah AbdullahiWellness DirectorThe first senior I ever loved was my grandmother (“Ako” in Ethiopian). She was a Christian who lived according to God’s words, so very kind and loving. I heard many great stories about her and from her, my favorite being that she loved feeding kids from the neighborhood whose parents were struggling. There comes a time where we all need help in our lives. Seniors have given so much to society and I feel honored to serve them. They have a way of making you take a step back from your own life and validate what is meaningful and what is not.

ExitSheila BennatDir Community RelationsI entered senior living after my mom passed away from pancreatic cancer. She was the best family caretaker, always putting everyone before herself. In helping through her health battle, I’m able to understand how families feel when they are the caregivers. In speaking with families, I feel Mom working through me. My compassion and empathy come easy because of her. I’m excited to join the MorningStar team! It’s a blessing to be part of an organization that follows my core values.
