LIVE TWICE THE STORY
Enjoy these miracle moments of connecting and caring
The first senior I ever loved was Raymond Clarke, known to me as Grampy. I didn’t ever think of him as a senior though; he was just my favorite guy…with white hair. I used to love watching him comb it, what little hair there was. Seniors teach us to be humble; compliments are to be mindfully given and graciously accepted. They teach us to be respectful of time, a precious commodity not be wasted. It is an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to serve them every day; and to serve alongside team members who daily exhibit the core value of kindness.
The first Senior I ever loved was Grandpa Jim, or as others knew him, “Big Jim.” He was funny, kind and always made us laugh with his silly jokes. Grandpa was the glue of our family. Seniors have taught me to live life to the fullest, to stop and enjoy the little things. They have shown me that family is the most important thing you have in life, and just how precious that life is. At MorningStar, team members are treated like family. The company not only goes above and beyond to care for seniors, but they extend that reach around the world with orphan care and clean water initiatives.
The first senior I ever loved was Tita Adela, who taught me to treat everyone with respect. Grandmother lived 934 miles away but that didn’t stop her from calling every day to see how I was doing. She always put a smile on my face. My original career ambition was law. But in college while working part-time at MorningStar I discovered how much I love interacting with seniors! God called me to senior living knowing I would find nothing more rewarding than to help and serve this generation.
