LIVE TWICE THE STORY
Enjoy these miracle moments of connecting and caring
From my grandfather Salvador and grandmother Elena, I experienced true unconditional love. Many of my earliest memories, ones I hold dear to this very day, involve them: holding hands as they walked me to kindergarten; going out for ice cream after school; or sitting on the porch together talking over the events of the day as we ate donuts and sipped coffee. Serving seniors, giving back to them, offers a sense of fulfillment that is unmatched.
My passion for the last 20 years has been senior care. Sharing life with them is as rewarding as it is humbling, as we walk together through the changes and challenges of life. In joining the MorningStar family, I found a warm welcome from both residents and team members. But this is not unique to my experience. Warmth is the very definition of the MorningStar brand.
My Great Grandmother, Grace Marie, was kind, compassionate, loved the Lord, and was the queen of baking/cooking. I was named after her, and we always had a close bond. She lived in Illinois but would visit often, always sending baked treats to Reno. I still make her recipes, especially when I am missing her. MorningStar has a love not only for seniors, but team members, creating an uplifting culture that make them want to come to work every day. MorningStar treasures and values all who walk through our doors.
The first senior I loved was my maternal grandfather Jim. He was straightforward but kind. It is so important to help seniors live their best life. Hearing stories of what they did and who they were throughout their lives has been one of the best parts of what I do. We need to celebrate seniors and in doing this job I am able to do that every day. MorningStar shows a true belief in what they do, a company that cares not just for the bottom line but for the world around them.
