National Interior Design Awards
Four MorningStar Communities Named
DENVER, CO (November 16, 2024) – MorningStar Senior Living at Old Town won two interior design awards from Senior Housing News, the leading source for news and information covering the senior housing industry. The new community in Fort Collins, Colorado, which opened June 2024, won third place in both the assisted living category and in the independent living category.

The SHN Architecture & Design Awards are judged by a discerning panel of operators, designers, architects and developers. Communities across the United States and world submitted new construction and renovation/repositioning projects this year, vying for top honors across 20 categories. They continue to raise the standards for care, operations and amenities through breathtaking projects.”

Also nominated in the Assisted Living category for this competition were MorningStar Senior Living at Holly Park in Centennial, CO (open Spring 2024; interiors by Thoma-Holec Design) and MorningStar Senior Living at The Canyons in Las Vegas, NV (open Summer 2024; interiors by Aneka Interiors). Nominated in the Renovation/Repositioning category was MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at Applewood in Lakewood, CO (renovation complete Spring 2024; interiors by Aneka Interiors).

MorningStar of Mission Viejo
In other competitions, MorningStar Senior Living at Holly Park was recognized twice in the American Society of Interior Design Excellence Awards, taking “Commercial Best of Show” and first place in the “Commercial Senior Living” category. MorningStar Senior Living of Mission Viejo (open Spring 2023; interiors by Thoma-Holec Design) took third place in the “Commercial Healthcare Facility Living” category.

MorningStar Senior Living of Mission Viejo and MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at Observatory Park (open Spring 2023; interiors by Thomas-Holec Designs) were given the 2024 Award of Merit in the category of “Best Service Enriched 55+ Community,” as part of the Gold Nugget Awards, sponsored by the Pacific Coast Builders Association, a division of the National Home Builders Association.
